Job description :
- Be up to date with Ostrum functionality and how business uses the platform.
- Participate in discussions related to system enhancements and advise the best way to improve functionality in the database. Troubleshoot bugs and issues, working with other front-end developers.
- Create database tables, views, stored procedures, functions and triggers as required for the platform or enhancements. (Most of the time, the requirement will come from other developers or from product owner).
- Develop stored procedures to implement complex business logic.
- Optimise database performance by the use of indexes.
- Conduct data patching or corrections in production environment as required. Migrate objects and data from one environment to another. For example, from DEV => TEST and TEST => PROD.
Skills & Experience required :
- Sound understanding of programming concepts such as data types, variable declarations, initialization, conditional branching and looping.
- Proficient with SQL including SELECT, JOIN, DDL and DML statements.
- Experience in working on large and complex systems.
- At least 5 years of experience in SQL programming (Oracle, MS-SQL or MySQL).
- At least 1 year experience in MySQL.
- Experience in BI platforms will be a plus.
Other Details :
The engagement will be direct between UK company and the India based resource. The contract will be structured in the form of long-term contract engagement. However, it will provide most of the benefits of an employee. Additionally, income tax burden on the resource will be lower. The payment will be structured as fixed monthly payment.
